Republic Day is celebrated in India on 26th January every year. Republic day commemorates the spirit of independent and individual India. 

      The constitution of India came into force on January 26,1950. This day is referred in the Indian constitution as the "date of its commencement", and celebrate as the Republic Day.

      This day is specifically chosen because of its historical importance. It was on this day in 1930 that Purna Swaraj day celebrated, following the resolution of Lahore Session of Indian National Congress. 

       With the commencement of the constitution, the Indian Independence Act of 1947 and the Government of India Act 1935 were repealed.
